This past week was the first week of ArtSmart Summer Camp!
40 kindergarten through 5th graders and 10 middle schoolers from the Logan Circle community, joined Luther Place for some summertime fun, along with arts and creativity education. The younger kids participated in various art projects, music lessons, and reading sessions. The older kids focused on practicing leadership and thinking about future goals. The focus of this week was “Self Exploration: Who am I?”
In addition to our regular arts and crafts and movement activities, we also explored the community by visiting Imagination Stage, the Portrait Gallery, and the local water park. The middle schoolers heard from multiple guest speakers and took field trips to the University of Maryland- College Park and Sandy Point beach.
We are looking forward to week two!
