Each year, Labor Day is celebrated to recognize the achievements and contributions working people have made in this country. A singular depiction of “the American worker” is often taught in textbooks, while the history of labor organizing and the people involved is richly diverse. Mikaela Ferrill invites you to join in on a discussion on the history of labor organizing, particularly migrant farm workers in California, and current movements across the country and in the District.
