Pastor Karen Brau

PK on Easter 2009Pastor Karen Brau came to Luther Place as Senior Pastor in December 2008 from 18 years in East Baltimore.  The energy she has brought to Luther Place shows and has been contagious for the congregation!  Pastor Karen lives in DC with her daughter Hannah and beagle Sparky, while her son Sam is a junior at Johns Hopkins University.   To read more about Pastor Karen, click here .

Church Office Staff

In additon to the pastoral staff, the church office is also staffed by Jack Reiffer, Parish Administrator; Amanda Weber, Coordinator for Community Life and the Arts; and Nancy White, Administrative Assistant. Jack, Amanda, and Nancy work closely with Pastor Karen to coordinate the many activities of the congregation and serve as a central source of information.

Steinbruck Center for Urban Studies

 The Steinbruck Center for Urban Studies is a ministry of Luther Place founded in 2001 that serves to educate about issues of urban homelessness and poverty.  An active part of the congregation, the office for the Steinbruck Center is housed with the other church offices and is currently staffed by Sarah Rossing, a volunteer through the Lutheran Volunteer Corps .

Undertakes the hiring of new staff and works with the current staff to ensure its needs are met
