All people are God’s children, and all are welcome at Christ’s table and meal. We at Luther Place Memorial Church are a diverse community in sexual orientation, gender identity, race, ethnicity, national origin, (dis)abilities, age, and material wealth. We recognize and celebrate the contributions of individuals and communities who have been pushed to the margins of society. Our goal is to welcome all who come, to accompany each other in our faith journeys and in seeking justice, and to embrace everyone in God’s peace—shalom.
We are a Reconciling in Christ congregation, welcoming persons of all sexual orientations and gender identities into active membership and leadership. We stand together rejoicing in the richness of God’s people—embracing, challenging, and caring for each other; and worshiping, advocating, and working together. Many of our GLBTQ members participate in both local and national activities related to ReconcilingWorks, an organization that advocates for full inclusion and that provides a network of support.
